To find the WHY behind a child's challenging behavior, we must be able to respond to the CHILD with curiosity, compassion, and an open mind so that we can perceive them clearly, but we cannot do this well when we are busy responding to the BEHAVIOR because it has triggered us or captured our attention. This checklist can help you to check in with yourself before you respond to and check in with others.
