Paying attention requires us to spend brain and body resources. People with ADHD and attention challenges often have difficulty using, allocating and controlling these resources. In this unique course, Dr. Monica Jackman, an experienced Occupational Therapist and creator of the OpenMind Program, introduces practices, lessons, and activities to help kids build understanding of what it means, and more importantly, how it feels to pay attention.
As a participant, you will also learn mindfulness and play-based exercises and activities that you can use with kids to practice and build the skill of concentration and attention, along with suggestions for how to integrate these practices into things you are already doing. Additionally, you’ll receive a guide with practice descriptions and helpful infographics.
Drawing from her extensive experience in occupational therapy, habit science, neuroscience, and mindfulness research, Dr. Jackman will equip you with tools that can help kids and adults to build the capacity to pay attention. This course is part of the "Stillness Prevents Illness" series.
