Working Memory Circles Activity

Kids who have skill deficits cannot just be rewarded or punished into better executive function, reading and writing performance- they need to practice and strengthen foundational skills.

Here is a fun and engaging activity challenge to build working memory, focus, bilateral hand coordination, visual scanning, sequencing, motor planning and more. Have kids follow the checklist (page 2) to connect the circles (page 1) using both hands at the same time- right hand to connect the circles on the right side, left hand to connect the circles on the left side.

To increase processing difficulty, flip the arrows to add another element of directionality (checklist on page 3).

To further increase complexity, add a third circle to each side- you can see how this increases executive function demands and requires more working memory capacity and planning (checklist page 4).

This can work as a timed challenge as well!
